Drained where it stands **Short answer** If the engine has not run, adblue in the petrol tank in Ely Cardiff is usually a clean drain with no lasting harm. Keep it that way — don't start it — and ring 01295 380724. The call-out is £89, the drainer brings everything, and most jobs are done in 1 to 3 hours. The mechanism is simple. AdBlue is mostly water with urea in it; in a petrol tank it corrodes the fuel system and needs a full drain and flush. These are the questions that separate a straight quote from a surprise at the roadside. - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? - Can you work on the forecourt, or does the car need to be moved? - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? ## What to do right now - Don't turn the key. - Check what went in: the receipt and the pump number tell you the fuel and the litres. - Call 01295 380724 with those details and your location. - Get a price that covers the whole job, then book. - The drainer arrives, drains the tank, flushes the lines and filter if needed. - You get clean fuel, a running engine and a note of what was removed. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Ely Cardiff. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Will you bring fuel?** Yes. The drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to start the engine and reach a filling station. **The engine is running rough — is that the wrong fuel?** If it started shortly after filling up, very likely. Pull over when it is safe, switch off and call 01295 380724. **Is the drain messy?** No. The fuel is pumped into a sealed tank on the van, and a drip tray catches anything from the connection. The area is left as it was. **Will the car need a service afterwards?** Not after a straight drain. If the engine ran on the wrong fuel, the drainer will tell you whether the filter should be changed. **I only put a little in — do I still need a drain?** In most modern diesels, yes. Even a small amount of petrol reduces the lubrication the pump depends on. A drain is cheap compared with a pump. **What if I have already driven home?** Leave it on the drive with the engine off and call 01295 380724. The drainer can do the whole job at your house. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
