--- title: AdBlue in petrol tank in Heworth York: local drainer from £89 url: https://wrongfueldrain.com/adblue-in-petrol-tank/heworth-york/ focus: adblue in the petrol tank heworth york phone: 01295 380724 updated: 2026-10-06 --- # AdBlue in petrol tank in Heworth York? Drained where it stands **Short answer** Stop, switch nothing on, and call 01295 380724. Local drainers across Heworth York handle adblue in the petrol tank every week: tank out, lines flushed, clean fuel in, all where the vehicle is parked. Expect 1 to 3 hours on site and a call-out from £89, with the full price given before they leave for you. What matters most is whether the fuel has moved beyond the tank. AdBlue is mostly water with urea in it; in a petrol tank it corrodes the fuel system and needs a full drain and flush. The waste fuel is logged and taken for licensed disposal, and you get a receipt showing what was done. ## What to ask on the phone before a drainer travels to Heworth York Most bad experiences with a fuel drain come from not asking these up front. Ask them all. - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? - How much more if the engine has already been started? - How long until you reach me in Heworth York? ## What to do right now - Stop. Do not start the engine, even for a moment. - Note the fuel type, the amount you put in and whether the car was already low. - Ring 01295 380724 and give the location — a postcode or the filling station name is enough. - Get the full price and an arrival time before you agree. - A drainer attends, drains and flushes the fuel system where the car is parked. - Clean fuel goes in, the engine is run, and you drive to the next forecourt to fill up. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Heworth York. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Does insurance cover adblue in the petrol tank?** Many policies exclude misfuelling. Some breakdown cover and optional add-ons include it. Check your policy wording before assuming either way. **Is the drain messy?** No. The fuel is pumped into a sealed tank on the van, and a drip tray catches anything from the connection. The area is left as it was. **Will my engine be damaged?** Not if it has not been started. The wrong fuel sitting in the tank touches nothing that a drain cannot clear. Damage starts once it circulates. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. **How quickly can a drainer reach me in Heworth York?** Usually the same day and often within a couple of hours. The operator gives you an arrival window on 01295 380724 before you agree. **What if I have already driven home?** Leave it on the drive with the engine off and call 01295 380724. The drainer can do the whole job at your house. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
