Drained where it stands **Short answer** Put the keys in your pocket and ring 01295 380724. AdBlue in the petrol tank in Upton is a drain-and-flush job done at the roadside, on the forecourt or on your drive — no tow, no garage. Call-out from £89, roughly 1 to 3 hours on site, price agreed first. Here is why it matters. AdBlue is mostly water with urea in it; in a petrol tank it corrodes the fuel system and needs a full drain and flush. Then it is drain, flush, refuel and start. At home or at work they can do the whole thing on the drive or in the car park without moving it at all. ## Five things to ask a drainer before they set off Most bad experiences with a fuel drain come from not asking these up front. Ask them all. - How much more if the engine has already been started? - How long until you reach me in Upton? - Will you dispose of the contaminated fuel, and can I have a note of it? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? ## What to do right now - Stop. Do not start the engine, even for a moment. - Note the fuel type, the amount you put in and whether the car was already low. - Ring 01295 380724 and give the location — a postcode or the filling station name is enough. - Get the full price and an arrival time before you agree. - A drainer attends, drains and flushes the fuel system where the car is parked. - Clean fuel goes in, the engine is run, and you drive to the next forecourt to fill up. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Upton. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **How quickly can a drainer reach me in Upton?** Usually the same day and often within a couple of hours. The operator gives you an arrival window on 01295 380724 before you agree. **Can I drive to a garage with adblue in the petrol tank?** No. Every mile pushes the fuel further through the pump and injectors. A drainer comes to you, so there is no reason to move the car under its own power. **How long does a drain take in Upton?** Usually 1 to 3 hours on site once the drainer arrives. Longer if the engine was started, because the filter and lines need flushing as well as the tank. **Will my engine be damaged?** Not if it has not been started. The wrong fuel sitting in the tank touches nothing that a drain cannot clear. Damage starts once it circulates. **Will you bring fuel?** Yes. The drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to start the engine and reach a filling station. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
