AdBlue in the screen wash tank in Fulford York is drained on site by a local drainer: pumped out, flushed and refilled in about 45 to 90 minutes. Call-out from £89 — call 01295 380724 and you get the figure before anyone drives to you. Here is why it matters. AdBlue in the washer bottle leaves a crystalline film on the glass and attacks seals and paint, so the bottle and lines are drained. Once the tank is empty and the lines are flushed, the drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to get the engine running and to reach a filling station, then checks for warning lights before handing the keys back. ## Five things to ask a drainer before they set off Most bad experiences with a fuel drain come from not asking these up front. Ask them all. - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? - Will you dispose of the contaminated fuel, and can I have a note of it? - Can you work on the forecourt, or does the car need to be moved? ## What to do right now - Don't press the start button or turn the key. - Take a photo of the pump display: it shows the fuel type and the litres. - Ring 01295 380724 and describe where the car is. - Agree the price before booking — the call-out starts at £89. - The drainer empties the tank and flushes the system where the car stands. - They refuel, start the engine and check it before handing back the keys. [Call 01295 380724 now](tel:+441295380724) ## Fulford York postcodes We cover postcode district YO10 and the surrounding streets in York. Busy pump lanes are the one place the drainer may ask to move the vehicle a few metres first, by hand. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Fulford York. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Can you drain a van or a lorry?** Vans, yes, routinely. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are quoted separately because of the volume involved. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. **Can I pay by card?** Yes. Card payment is taken on site once the job is done. **Will my engine be damaged?** Not if it has not been started. The wrong fuel sitting in the tank touches nothing that a drain cannot clear. Damage starts once it circulates. **Will the car need a service afterwards?** Not after a straight drain. If the engine ran on the wrong fuel, the drainer will tell you whether the filter should be changed. **How quickly can a drainer reach me in Fulford York?** Usually the same day and often within a couple of hours. The operator gives you an arrival window on 01295 380724 before you agree. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
