We connect you to a drainer **Short answer** Call 01295 380724 before touching the ignition. We cover Arklow through partner drainers rather than our own vans, and we will connect you to one nearby. Water, dirt, microbial growth or stale fuel all behave like a misfuel: rough running, loss of power, a clogged filter. It comes out the same way. They quote and confirm before travelling. In Ireland we do not run our own vans — we work with local fuel drainers and connect you to one covering Arklow. Call 01295 380724 and we will pass you straight to a drainer in your area with the details of the vehicle and the fuels involved, so you are not repeating the story twice. Pricing and attendance times are set by the local operator, not by us, so ask them to confirm both before they travel. ## Contaminated fuel in a car in Arklow: the facts Town | Arklow | Area | County Wicklow | Job | Contaminated or bad fuel | Price | Set by the local drainer, agreed before travel | Time on site | 1–2 hours | Who attends | An independent local drainer | Phone | 01295 380724, 24 hours | ## When a drainer arrives in Arklow A good drainer asks three questions before touching anything: what fuel went in, how full the tank is, and whether the engine was started. The answers decide whether it is a straight drain or a drain plus a flush of the filter and pump. Either way it happens where the vehicle is parked. ## Questions worth asking before you book a drain in Arklow Most bad experiences with a fuel drain come from not asking these up front. Ask them all. - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? - How long until you reach me in Arklow? - Will you check the filter and pump if the engine ran? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? ## What to do right now - Stop. Do not start the engine, even for a moment. - Note the fuel type, the amount you put in and whether the car was already low. - Ring 01295 380724 and give the location — a postcode or the filling station name is enough. - Get the full price and an arrival time before you agree. - A drainer attends, drains and flushes the fuel system where the car is parked. - Clean fuel goes in, the engine is run, and you drive to the next forecourt to fill up. [Call 01295 380724 now](tel:+441295380724) ## Forecourt, roadside or drive: where we drain in Arklow Most drains in Arklow happen on the forecourt where the mistake was made. The rest are at the roadside after the car cut out, or on a drive the next morning. All three work; the vehicle does not need to be towed anywhere. The same van covers Greystones, Wicklow, Blessington and Rathdrum, which usually keeps arrival times short across this side of County Wicklow. ### Other drains in Arklow [Wrong fuel drain cost in Arklow](/wrong-fuel-cost/arklow/)[Wrong fuel rescue in Arklow](/wrong-fuel-rescue/arklow/)[Fuel collection in Arklow](/fuel-collection/arklow/)[Wrong fuel in Arklow](/wrong-fuel/arklow/)[Wrong fuel in van in Arklow](/wrong-fuel-in-a-van/arklow/)[AdBlue in diesel in Arklow](/adblue-in-diesel/arklow/)[AdBlue in screen wash tank in Arklow](/adblue-in-screen-wash-tank/arklow/)[AdBlue in diesel tank in Arklow](/adblue-in-diesel-tank/arklow/)[Contaminated fuel collection in Arklow](/contaminated-fuel-collection/arklow/)[Screen wash in petrol tank in Arklow](/screen-wash-in-petrol-tank/arklow/)[Heating oil collection in Arklow](/heating-oil-collection/arklow/)[Petrol in diesel in Arklow](/petrol-in-diesel/arklow/)[Water in petrol tank in Arklow](/water-in-petrol-tank/arklow/)[Screen wash in AdBlue tank in Arklow](/screen-wash-in-adblue-tank/arklow/)[Kerosene disposal in Arklow](/kerosene-disposal/arklow/)[Red diesel in tank in Arklow](/red-diesel-in-tank/arklow/) ### Drainers nearby [Bray](/areas/bray/)[Greystones](/areas/greystones/)[Wicklow](/areas/wicklow/)[Blessington](/areas/blessington/)[Newtownmountkennedy](/areas/newtownmountkennedy/)[Rathdrum](/areas/rathdrum/)[Baltinglass](/areas/baltinglass/)[Enniskerry](/areas/enniskerry/)[Kilcoole](/areas/kilcoole/)[Bray](/areas/bray-wicklow/)[Greystones](/areas/greystones-wicklow/) ### More of County Wicklow [Wicklow](/contaminated-fuel/wicklow/)[Baltinglass](/contaminated-fuel/baltinglass/)[Blessington](/contaminated-fuel/blessington/)[Bray](/contaminated-fuel/bray-wicklow/)[Enniskerry](/contaminated-fuel/enniskerry/)[Greystones](/contaminated-fuel/greystones-wicklow/)[Kilcoole](/contaminated-fuel/kilcoole/)[Newtownmountkennedy](/contaminated-fuel/newtownmountkennedy/)[Rathdrum](/contaminated-fuel/rathdrum/) ### From the drainer's notebook [Fuel drain near Mossley Hill Liverpool: a drainer's field notes](/blog/fuel-drain-near-mossley-hill-liverpool/)[Fuel drain near Nether Edge Sheffield: a drainer's field notes](/blog/fuel-drain-near-nether-edge-sheffield/)[Fuel drain near Normanton Derby: a drainer's field notes](/blog/fuel-drain-near-normanton-derby/)[Fuel drain near Oadby Leicester: a drainer's field notes](/blog/fuel-drain-near-oadby-leicester/)[Fuel drain near Ormesby Middlesbrough: a drainer's field notes](/blog/fuel-drain-near-ormesby-middlesbrough/) ### Answers [How to fix contaminated fuel?](/answers/how-to-fix-contaminated-fuel/)[How to dispose of old fuel?](/answers/how-to-dispose-of-old-fuel/)[How to get rid of water in diesel fuel?](/answers/how-to-get-rid-of-water-in-diesel-fuel/)[How to dispose of old fuel uk?](/answers/how-to-dispose-of-old-fuel-uk/)[How much water in diesel tank is bad?](/answers/how-much-water-in-diesel-tank-is-bad/) **4.8** out of 5 ★★★★★ Fuel Fixer, the company behind Wrong Fuel Drain, holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from [2,190 reviews on Trustpilot](https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.fuelfixer.co.uk), on a profile claimed since 2017. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Arklow. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee is set by the local drainer in Ireland and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Is the drain messy?** No. The fuel is pumped into a sealed tank on the van, and a drip tray catches anything from the connection. The area is left as it was. **Will you bring fuel?** Yes. The drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to start the engine and reach a filling station. **Will the car need a service afterwards?** Not after a straight drain. If the engine ran on the wrong fuel, the drainer will tell you whether the filter should be changed. **Will my engine be damaged?** Not if it has not been started. The wrong fuel sitting in the tank touches nothing that a drain cannot clear. Damage starts once it circulates. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. **I only put a little in — do I still need a drain?** In most modern diesels, yes. Even a small amount of petrol reduces the lubrication the pump depends on. A drain is cheap compared with a pump. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
