We cover Clonakilty through partner drainers rather than our own vans, and we will connect you to one nearby. Water, dirt, microbial growth or stale fuel all behave like a misfuel: rough running, loss of power, a clogged filter. It comes out the same way. They quote and confirm before travelling. In Ireland we do not run our own vans — we work with local fuel drainers and connect you to one covering Clonakilty. Call 01295 380724 and we will pass you straight to a drainer in your area with the details of the vehicle and the fuels involved, so you are not repeating the story twice. Pricing and attendance times are set by the local operator, not by us, so ask them to confirm both before they travel. ## Contaminated fuel in a car in Clonakilty: the facts Town | Clonakilty | Area | County Cork | Job | Contaminated or bad fuel | Price | Set by the local drainer, agreed before travel | Time on site | 1–2 hours | Who attends | An independent local drainer | Phone | 01295 380724, 24 hours | ## The drain itself, step by step in Clonakilty On a forecourt the drainer will usually move the vehicle off the pump lane first, by hand, with the engine off. Then it is drain, flush, refuel and start. At home or at work they can do the whole thing on the drive or in the car park without moving it at all. ## Five things to ask a drainer before they set off None of these are awkward questions. Any drainer worth calling will answer them before setting off. - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? - How long until you reach me in Clonakilty? - Will you check the filter and pump if the engine ran? - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? ## What to do right now - Keep the engine off and put the keys somewhere you will not absent-mindedly use them. - Move the car only by pushing, with help, and only if it is blocking a pump. - Phone 01295 380724 and describe what happened. - Confirm the quote — call-out from £89 — and the arrival window. - The drainer empties the tank into a sealed container and flushes through. - After a refuel and a test run, the waste fuel leaves with the drainer for licensed disposal. [Call 01295 380724 now](tel:+441295380724) ## Where you can be drained in Clonakilty Across Clonakilty, County Cork, Ireland the common locations are the filling station itself, a lay-by a mile or two down the road, and home. If you are on a motorway hard shoulder, call the emergency services first; the drainer can meet you once the vehicle is somewhere safe. The same van covers Mallow, Macroom, Charleville and Kinsale, which usually keeps arrival times short across this side of County Cork. ### Other drains in Clonakilty [Wrong fuel rescue in Clonakilty](/wrong-fuel-rescue/clonakilty/)[Diesel in gasoline in Clonakilty](/diesel-in-gasoline/clonakilty/)[Wrong fuel engine damage in Clonakilty](/wrong-fuel-damage/clonakilty/)[Diesel in AdBlue tank in Clonakilty](/diesel-in-adblue-tank/clonakilty/)[Petrol in AdBlue tank in Clonakilty](/petrol-in-adblue-tank/clonakilty/)[Gasoline in diesel in Clonakilty](/gasoline-in-diesel/clonakilty/)[Wrong fuel symptoms in Clonakilty](/wrong-fuel-symptoms/clonakilty/)[Wrong fuel in van in Clonakilty](/wrong-fuel-in-a-van/clonakilty/)[Fuel fixer in Clonakilty](/fuel-fixer/clonakilty/)[Fuel doctor in Clonakilty](/fuel-doctor/clonakilty/)[Diesel in petrol in Clonakilty](/diesel-in-petrol/clonakilty/)[Wrong fuel drain cost in Clonakilty](/wrong-fuel-cost/clonakilty/)[Kerosene disposal in Clonakilty](/kerosene-disposal/clonakilty/)[AdBlue in screen wash tank in Clonakilty](/adblue-in-screen-wash-tank/clonakilty/)[Screen wash in petrol tank in Clonakilty](/screen-wash-in-petrol-tank/clonakilty/)[Fuel collection in Clonakilty](/fuel-collection/clonakilty/) ### Drainers nearby [Cork](/areas/cork/)[Carrigaline](/areas/carrigaline/)[Cobh](/areas/cobh/)[Midleton](/areas/midleton/)[Mallow](/areas/mallow/)[Youghal](/areas/youghal/)[Bandon](/areas/bandon/)[Fermoy](/areas/fermoy/)[Macroom](/areas/macroom/)[Kinsale](/areas/kinsale/)[Bantry](/areas/bantry/)[Skibbereen](/areas/skibbereen/) ### More of County Cork [Cork](/contaminated-fuel/cork/)[Ballincollig](/contaminated-fuel/ballincollig/)[Bandon](/contaminated-fuel/bandon/)[Bantry](/contaminated-fuel/bantry/)[Blarney](/contaminated-fuel/blarney/)[Carrigaline](/contaminated-fuel/carrigaline/)[Castletownbere](/contaminated-fuel/castletownbere/)[Charleville](/contaminated-fuel/charleville/)[Cobh](/contaminated-fuel/cobh/)[Dunmanway](/contaminated-fuel/dunmanway/) ### From the drainer's notebook [Water in diesel tank in Kilmarnock: a drainer's notes](/blog/water-in-diesel-tank-in-kilmarnock-drainers-notes/)[Diesel in petrol in Romford: a drainer's notes](/blog/diesel-in-petrol-in-romford-drainers-notes/)[Fuel drain in Taunton: a drainer's notes](/blog/fuel-drain-in-taunton-drainers-notes/)[Petrol in diesel in Darlington: a drainer's notes](/blog/petrol-in-diesel-in-darlington-drainers-notes/)[Adblue in diesel tank in Dudley: a drainer's notes](/blog/adblue-in-diesel-tank-in-dudley-drainers-notes/) ### Answers [How to fix contaminated fuel?](/answers/how-to-fix-contaminated-fuel/)[How to dispose of old fuel?](/answers/how-to-dispose-of-old-fuel/)[How to get rid of water in diesel fuel?](/answers/how-to-get-rid-of-water-in-diesel-fuel/)[How to dispose of old fuel uk?](/answers/how-to-dispose-of-old-fuel-uk/)[How much water in diesel tank is bad?](/answers/how-much-water-in-diesel-tank-is-bad/) **4.8** out of 5 ★★★★★ Fuel Fixer, the company behind Wrong Fuel Drain, holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from [2,190 reviews on Trustpilot](https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.fuelfixer.co.uk), on a profile claimed since 2017. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Clonakilty. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee is set by the local drainer in Ireland and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Do you work at night in Clonakilty?** Yes. Drainers work 24 hours a day, including weekends and bank holidays. **Will you bring fuel?** Yes. The drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to start the engine and reach a filling station. **How long does a drain take in Clonakilty?** Usually 1 to 2 hours on site once the drainer arrives. Longer if the engine was started, because the filter and lines need flushing as well as the tank. **Is the drain messy?** No. The fuel is pumped into a sealed tank on the van, and a drip tray catches anything from the connection. The area is left as it was. **The engine is running rough — is that the wrong fuel?** If it started shortly after filling up, very likely. Pull over when it is safe, switch off and call 01295 380724. **Will my engine be damaged?** Not if it has not been started. The wrong fuel sitting in the tank touches nothing that a drain cannot clear. Damage starts once it circulates. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
