--- title: Contaminated fuel in in Colinton Edinburgh: local drainer. url: https://wrongfueldrain.com/contaminated-fuel/colinton-edinburgh/ focus: contaminated fuel in a car colinton edinburgh phone: 01295 380724 updated: 2026-10-06 --- # Local drainer for contaminated fuel in in Colinton Edinburgh **Short answer** Stop, switch nothing on, and call 01295 380724. Local drainers across Colinton Edinburgh handle contaminated fuel in a car every week: tank out, lines flushed, clean fuel in, all where the vehicle is parked. Expect 1 to 2 hours on site and a call-out from £89, with the full price given before they leave for you. Water, dirt, microbial growth or stale fuel all behave like a misfuel: rough running, loss of power, a clogged filter. It comes out the same way. Left sitting in the tank, it is a small job. Any drainer worth calling will answer them before setting off. - How long until you reach me in Colinton Edinburgh? - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? - Will you dispose of the contaminated fuel, and can I have a note of it? - Can you work on the forecourt, or does the car need to be moved? ## What to do right now - Stop. Do not start the engine, even for a moment. - Note the fuel type, the amount you put in and whether the car was already low. - Ring 01295 380724 and give the location — a postcode or the filling station name is enough. - Get the full price and an arrival time before you agree. - A drainer attends, drains and flushes the fuel system where the car is parked. - Clean fuel goes in, the engine is run, and you drive to the next forecourt to fill up. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Colinton Edinburgh. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Will you bring fuel?** Yes. The drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to start the engine and reach a filling station. **What does it cost in Colinton Edinburgh?** The call-out starts at £89. The full price depends on the vehicle and how far the fuel got, and it is confirmed on 01295 380724 before anyone travels. **What happens to the fuel you take out?** It goes into a sealed tank on the drainer's van and is taken for licensed disposal and recycling. It is never tipped away. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. **Do I need to stay with the car?** Ideally yes, so the drainer can confirm what happened and hand the keys back. If not, agree access on the phone. **The engine is running rough — is that the wrong fuel?** If it started shortly after filling up, very likely. Pull over when it is safe, switch off and call 01295 380724. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
