Contaminated fuel in a car in Wicklow is handled by a local drainer we work with in Ireland — call 01295 380724 and we hand you over with the details. Water, dirt, microbial growth or stale fuel all behave like a misfuel: rough running, loss of power, a clogged filter. It comes out the same way. Pricing is the local operator's, agreed with you first. In Ireland we do not run our own vans — we work with local fuel drainers and connect you to one covering Wicklow. Call 01295 380724 and we will pass you straight to a drainer in your area with the details of the vehicle and the fuels involved, so you are not repeating the story twice. Pricing and attendance times are set by the local operator, not by us, so ask them to confirm both before they travel. ## Contaminated fuel in a car in Wicklow: the facts Town | Wicklow | Area | County Wicklow | Job | Contaminated or bad fuel | Price | Set by the local drainer, agreed before travel | Time on site | 1–2 hours | Who attends | An independent local drainer | Phone | 01295 380724, 24 hours | ## When a drainer arrives in Wicklow Most of the time is spent draining. A full tank of the wrong fuel takes longer to pump than a few litres, so the drainer will tell you roughly how long it will be once they see the gauge. After that it is a flush, a refuel and a test run before they leave. ## Before you agree a price: what to ask None of these are awkward questions. Any drainer worth calling will answer them before setting off. - How long until you reach me in Wicklow? - How much more if the engine has already been started? - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? ## What to do right now - Don't press the start button or turn the key. - Take a photo of the pump display: it shows the fuel type and the litres. - Ring 01295 380724 and describe where the car is. - Agree the price before booking — the call-out starts at £89. - The drainer empties the tank and flushes the system where the car stands. - They refuel, start the engine and check it before handing back the keys. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Wicklow. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee is set by the local drainer in Ireland and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **What happens to the fuel you take out?** It goes into a sealed tank on the drainer's van and is taken for licensed disposal and recycling. It is never tipped away. **Do you work at night in Wicklow?** Yes. Drainers work 24 hours a day, including weekends and bank holidays. **Do I need to stay with the car?** Ideally yes, so the drainer can confirm what happened and hand the keys back. If not, agree access on the phone. **What does it cost in Wicklow?** The call-out starts at £89. The full price depends on the vehicle and how far the fuel got, and it is confirmed on 01295 380724 before anyone travels. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. **I only put a little in — do I still need a drain?** In most modern diesels, yes. Even a small amount of petrol reduces the lubrication the pump depends on. A drain is cheap compared with a pump. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
