We connect you to a drainer **Short answer** Call 01295 380724 before touching the ignition. We cover Greystones through partner drainers rather than our own vans, and we will connect you to one nearby. Diesel in the AdBlue tank contaminates the urea and can ruin the SCR dosing pump and injector, so it must come out before starting. They quote and confirm before travelling. In Ireland we do not run our own vans — we work with local fuel drainers and connect you to one covering Greystones. Call 01295 380724 and we will pass you straight to a drainer in your area with the details of the vehicle and the fuels involved, so you are not repeating the story twice. Pricing and attendance times are set by the local operator, not by us, so ask them to confirm both before they travel. ## The short version: diesel in the adblue tank in Greystones Town | Greystones | Area | County Wicklow | Job | Diesel in the AdBlue tank | Price | Set by the local drainer, agreed before travel | Time on site | 1–3 hours | Who attends | An independent local drainer | Phone | 01295 380724, 24 hours | ## The drain itself, step by step in Greystones First they confirm what went in and how much, and whether the engine ran — that decides how far they need to go. Then the tank is emptied into a sealed container, the fuel lines and filter are flushed where needed, clean fuel is added and the vehicle is started and checked before they sign it off. ## What to ask on the phone before a drainer travels to Greystones You are going to pay for the job, so it is worth two minutes on the phone first. These are the questions that separate a straight quote from a surprise at the roadside. - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - Will you check the filter and pump if the engine ran? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? - How much more if the engine has already been started? - Can you work on the forecourt, or does the car need to be moved? ## What to do right now - Stop. Do not start the engine, even for a moment. - Note the fuel type, the amount you put in and whether the car was already low. - Ring 01295 380724 and give the location — a postcode or the filling station name is enough. - Get the full price and an arrival time before you agree. - A drainer attends, drains and flushes the fuel system where the car is parked. - Clean fuel goes in, the engine is run, and you drive to the next forecourt to fill up. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Greystones. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee is set by the local drainer in Ireland and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **What happens to the fuel you take out?** It goes into a sealed tank on the drainer's van and is taken for licensed disposal and recycling. It is never tipped away. **I only put a little in — do I still need a drain?** In most modern diesels, yes. Even a small amount of petrol reduces the lubrication the pump depends on. A drain is cheap compared with a pump. **Do I need to stay with the car?** Ideally yes, so the drainer can confirm what happened and hand the keys back. If not, agree access on the phone. **Does insurance cover diesel in the adblue tank?** Many policies exclude misfuelling. Some breakdown cover and optional add-ons include it. Check your policy wording before assuming either way. **How long does a drain take in Greystones?** Usually 1 to 3 hours on site once the drainer arrives. Longer if the engine was started, because the filter and lines need flushing as well as the tank. **Can you drain a van or a lorry?** Vans, yes, routinely. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are quoted separately because of the volume involved. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
