--- title: Fuel disposal in Clonakilty: local drainer, Ireland url: https://wrongfueldrain.com/fuel-disposal/clonakilty/ focus: fuel disposal clonakilty phone: 01295 380724 updated: 2026-10-06 --- # Fuel disposal in Clonakilty by a licensed carrier **Short answer** Don't start it. Fuel disposal in Clonakilty is handled by a local drainer we work with in Ireland — call 01295 380724 and we hand you over with the details. Fuel is a controlled waste. It has to go through a licensed carrier for processing — it cannot be poured away or burnt off. Pricing is the local operator's, agreed with you first. In Ireland we do not run our own vans — we work with local fuel drainers and connect you to one covering Clonakilty. Call 01295 380724 and we will pass you straight to a drainer in your area with the details of the vehicle and the fuels involved, so you are not repeating the story twice. Pricing and attendance times are set by the local operator, not by us, so ask them to confirm both before they travel. ## The short version: fuel disposal in Clonakilty Town | Clonakilty | Area | County Cork | Service | Fuel disposal | Price | Set by the local drainer, agreed before travel | Time on site | 1–3 hours | Who attends | An independent local drainer | Phone | 01295 380724, 24 hours | ## How a collection works - Work out what the fuel is and roughly how much there is. - Ring 01295 380724 for a per-litre price. - Book a slot and mention any access issues — gates, slopes, narrow lanes. - A registered carrier uplifts the fuel on the day. - The tank is emptied and any sludge is taken too. - The paperwork is issued on site and the fuel goes for recycling. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Clonakilty. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee is set by the local drainer in Ireland and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Can you take sludge from the bottom of the tank?** Yes. Residue and sludge are removed along with the fuel, and the tank is checked. **Is old heating oil still usable?** Sometimes, if it is clean. If it has water or sludge in it, collection and disposal is the safer option. **Do I need to be there?** Only if the tank is not accessible without you. Otherwise, access instructions are enough. **How is fuel disposal priced in Clonakilty?** Per litre or per job, depending on volume and access. You get the figure on 01295 380724 before booking. **Where does the fuel go?** To licensed processing and recycling. It is never poured away or burned. **Do you collect from farms and yards around Clonakilty?** Yes, as well as homes, depots, marinas and commercial sites. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
