Drained where it stands **Short answer** Put the keys in your pocket and ring 01295 380724. Fuel drain in Abthorpe Northampton is a drain-and-flush job done at the roadside, on the forecourt or on your drive — no tow, no garage. Call-out from £89, roughly 45 to 90 minutes on site, price agreed first. Here is why it matters. A fuel drain empties the tank of whatever should not be there, flushes the lines and refills with the right fuel. Tank drained into the van, lines flushed, clean fuel added, engine started and watched for a few minutes. The waste fuel is logged and taken for licensed disposal, and you get a receipt showing what was done. ## Five things to ask a drainer before they set off None of these are awkward questions. Any drainer worth calling will answer them before setting off. - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - Can you work on the forecourt, or does the car need to be moved? - Will you check the filter and pump if the engine ran? - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? ## What to do right now - Leave the key out of the ignition and do not unlock the steering to push the car. - If you are at the pump, tell the cashier; most forecourts will let the car stay in a bay. - Call 01295 380724. Say what fuel went in, roughly how much, and where you are. - Agree the price on the phone. Nobody travels until you have. - The drainer pumps out the tank, flushes the lines and adds clean fuel. - They start the engine, check it runs cleanly and take the old fuel away. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Abthorpe Northampton. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Can I pay by card?** Yes. Card payment is taken on site once the job is done. **Do you work at night in Abthorpe Northampton?** Yes. Drainers work 24 hours a day, including weekends and bank holidays. **Will you bring fuel?** Yes. The drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to start the engine and reach a filling station. **Do you cover all of Abthorpe Northampton?** Yes — forecourts, roadsides, homes and workplaces across Abthorpe Northampton and the surrounding area. **How long does a drain take in Abthorpe Northampton?** Usually 45 to 90 minutes on site once the drainer arrives. Longer if the engine was started, because the filter and lines need flushing as well as the tank. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
