--- title: Fuel drain in Fulford York: local drainer from £89 url: https://wrongfueldrain.com/fuel-drain/fulford-york/ focus: fuel drain fulford york phone: 01295 380724 updated: 2026-10-06 --- # Fuel drain in Fulford York, drained on the spot **Short answer** Before anything else, keep the key out of the ignition. A drainer covering Fulford York can be with you the same day for fuel drain, drain it where the car stands and have you moving in about 45 to 90 minutes. The misfuel call-out is £89 and the total is quoted on 01295 380724 before they travel. Here is why it matters. A fuel drain empties the tank of whatever should not be there, flushes the lines and refills with the right fuel. A full tank of the wrong fuel takes longer to pump than a few litres, so the drainer will tell you roughly how long it will be once they see the gauge. After that it is a flush, a refuel and a test run before they leave. ## Five things to ask a drainer before they set off A drainer should be happy to answer all of these on the phone. If they will not give a price before travelling, ring someone else. - How long until you reach me in Fulford York? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? ## What to do right now - Leave the key out of the ignition and do not unlock the steering to push the car. - If you are at the pump, tell the cashier; most forecourts will let the car stay in a bay. - Call 01295 380724. Say what fuel went in, roughly how much, and where you are. - Agree the price on the phone. Nobody travels until you have. - The drainer pumps out the tank, flushes the lines and adds clean fuel. - They start the engine, check it runs cleanly and take the old fuel away. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Fulford York. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Does insurance cover fuel drain?** Many policies exclude misfuelling. Some breakdown cover and optional add-ons include it. Check your policy wording before assuming either way. **Can I drive to a garage with fuel drain?** No. Every mile pushes the fuel further through the pump and injectors. A drainer comes to you, so there is no reason to move the car under its own power. **Do you work at night in Fulford York?** Yes. Drainers work 24 hours a day, including weekends and bank holidays. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. **Do I need to move the car off the forecourt?** Only if it is blocking a pump. Push it into a bay with help and the engine off; the drainer can work there. **Do you cover all of Fulford York?** Yes — forecourts, roadsides, homes and workplaces across Fulford York and the surrounding area. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
