--- title: Fuel drain in Skelton York: local drainer from £89 url: https://wrongfueldrain.com/fuel-drain/skelton-york/ focus: fuel drain skelton york phone: 01295 380724 updated: 2026-10-06 --- # Local drainer for fuel drain in Skelton York **Short answer** Stop, switch nothing on, and call 01295 380724. Local drainers across Skelton York handle fuel drain every week: tank out, lines flushed, clean fuel in, all where the vehicle is parked. Expect 45 to 90 minutes on site and a call-out from £89, with the full price given before they leave for you. What matters most is whether the fuel has moved beyond the tank. A fuel drain empties the tank of whatever should not be there, flushes the lines and refills with the right fuel. Tank drained into the van, lines flushed, clean fuel added, engine started and watched for a few minutes. The waste fuel is logged and taken for licensed disposal, and you get a receipt showing what was done. ## Five things to ask a drainer before they set off You are going to pay for the job, so it is worth two minutes on the phone first. These are the questions that separate a straight quote from a surprise at the roadside. - Will you dispose of the contaminated fuel, and can I have a note of it? - Can you work on the forecourt, or does the car need to be moved? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? ## What to do right now - Keep the engine off and put the keys somewhere you will not absent-mindedly use them. - Move the car only by pushing, with help, and only if it is blocking a pump. - Phone 01295 380724 and describe what happened. - Confirm the quote — call-out from £89 — and the arrival window. - The drainer empties the tank into a sealed container and flushes through. - After a refuel and a test run, the waste fuel leaves with the drainer for licensed disposal. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Skelton York. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Can you drain a van or a lorry?** Vans, yes, routinely. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are quoted separately because of the volume involved. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. **What happens to the fuel you take out?** It goes into a sealed tank on the drainer's van and is taken for licensed disposal and recycling. It is never tipped away. **Do you work at night in Skelton York?** Yes. Drainers work 24 hours a day, including weekends and bank holidays. **Can I drive to a garage with fuel drain?** No. Every mile pushes the fuel further through the pump and injectors. A drainer comes to you, so there is no reason to move the car under its own power. **Does insurance cover fuel drain?** Many policies exclude misfuelling. Some breakdown cover and optional add-ons include it. Check your policy wording before assuming either way. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
