--- title: Fuel fixer in Ely Cardiff: local drainer from £89 url: https://wrongfueldrain.com/fuel-fixer/ely-cardiff/ focus: fuel fixer ely cardiff phone: 01295 380724 updated: 2026-10-06 --- # Fuel fixer in Ely Cardiff: a local drainer comes to you **Short answer** Do not turn the ignition, not even to check the dashboard. For fuel fixer anywhere in Ely Cardiff, a drainer attends with a pump and a sealed tank, empties the fuel system and refills it. From £89 call-out, usually 45 to 90 minutes on site; ring 01295 380724 for the price before you commit. The mechanism is simple. Fuel Fixer is the company behind the drainers on this site, working across the UK since before misfuel drains were common. Then it is drain, flush, refuel and start. At home or at work they can do the whole thing on the drive or in the car park without moving it at all. ## Before you agree a price: what to ask Most bad experiences with a fuel drain come from not asking these up front. Ask them all. - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? ## What to do right now - Leave the ignition alone — on many cars even unlocking it powers the fuel pump. - Push the car clear of the pump if needed, with someone steering and the engine off. - Call 01295 380724 and give the fuel, the amount and your exact location. - Ask for the whole price, not just the call-out, and agree it. - The drainer drains the tank into a sealed container and flushes the lines. - Fresh fuel goes in, the engine is started and the waste fuel leaves with the drainer. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Ely Cardiff. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Does insurance cover fuel fixer?** Many policies exclude misfuelling. Some breakdown cover and optional add-ons include it. Check your policy wording before assuming either way. **Can I drive to a garage with fuel fixer?** No. Every mile pushes the fuel further through the pump and injectors. A drainer comes to you, so there is no reason to move the car under its own power. **How quickly can a drainer reach me in Ely Cardiff?** Usually the same day and often within a couple of hours. The operator gives you an arrival window on 01295 380724 before you agree. **Will my engine be damaged?** Not if it has not been started. The wrong fuel sitting in the tank touches nothing that a drain cannot clear. Damage starts once it circulates. **Do I need to stay with the car?** Ideally yes, so the drainer can confirm what happened and hand the keys back. If not, agree access on the phone. **Can I pay by card?** Yes. Card payment is taken on site once the job is done. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
