Drained where it stands **Short answer** The single most useful thing you can do now is nothing — leave the engine off. Then call 01295 380724. A drainer who works Hemlington Middlesbrough drains red diesel in the tank on the spot, flushes through and refuels, typically in 1 to 2 hours, with a call-out from £89 confirmed up front. Here is why it matters. Mechanically red diesel runs, but in a road vehicle it is a duty offence; the tank is drained, flushed and the fuel disposed of under licence. Any drainer worth calling will answer them before setting off. - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? - Can you work on the forecourt, or does the car need to be moved? - How long until you reach me in Hemlington Middlesbrough? - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? - How much more if the engine has already been started? ## What to do right now - Keep the engine off and put the keys somewhere you will not absent-mindedly use them. - Move the car only by pushing, with help, and only if it is blocking a pump. - Phone 01295 380724 and describe what happened. - Confirm the quote — call-out from £89 — and the arrival window. - The drainer empties the tank into a sealed container and flushes through. - After a refuel and a test run, the waste fuel leaves with the drainer for licensed disposal. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Hemlington Middlesbrough. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Do I need to stay with the car?** Ideally yes, so the drainer can confirm what happened and hand the keys back. If not, agree access on the phone. **The engine is running rough — is that the wrong fuel?** If it started shortly after filling up, very likely. Pull over when it is safe, switch off and call 01295 380724. **How long does a drain take in Hemlington Middlesbrough?** Usually 1 to 2 hours on site once the drainer arrives. Longer if the engine was started, because the filter and lines need flushing as well as the tank. **What does it cost in Hemlington Middlesbrough?** The call-out starts at £89. The full price depends on the vehicle and how far the fuel got, and it is confirmed on 01295 380724 before anyone travels. **Do I need to move the car off the forecourt?** Only if it is blocking a pump. Push it into a bay with help and the engine off; the drainer can work there. **Can I drive to a garage with red diesel in the tank?** No. Every mile pushes the fuel further through the pump and injectors. A drainer comes to you, so there is no reason to move the car under its own power. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
