Water in the AdBlue tank in Fulford York is drained on site by a local drainer: pumped out, flushed and refilled in about 1 to 3 hours. Call-out from £89 — call 01295 380724 and you get the figure before anyone drives to you. The mechanism is simple. AdBlue is a precise mix. Extra water takes it out of specification and the exhaust treatment system logs a fault. Then the tank is emptied into a sealed container, the fuel lines and filter are flushed where needed, clean fuel is added and the vehicle is started and checked before they sign it off. ## Five things to ask a drainer before they set off You are going to pay for the job, so it is worth two minutes on the phone first. These are the questions that separate a straight quote from a surprise at the roadside. - Will you check the filter and pump if the engine ran? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - How much more if the engine has already been started? - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? - Can you work on the forecourt, or does the car need to be moved? ## What to do right now - Don't press the start button or turn the key. - Take a photo of the pump display: it shows the fuel type and the litres. - Ring 01295 380724 and describe where the car is. - Agree the price before booking — the call-out starts at £89. - The drainer empties the tank and flushes the system where the car stands. - They refuel, start the engine and check it before handing back the keys. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Fulford York. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Do I need to move the car off the forecourt?** Only if it is blocking a pump. Push it into a bay with help and the engine off; the drainer can work there. **I only put a little in — do I still need a drain?** In most modern diesels, yes. Even a small amount of petrol reduces the lubrication the pump depends on. A drain is cheap compared with a pump. **Do you work at night in Fulford York?** Yes. Drainers work 24 hours a day, including weekends and bank holidays. **How quickly can a drainer reach me in Fulford York?** Usually the same day and often within a couple of hours. The operator gives you an arrival window on 01295 380724 before you agree. **Is the drain messy?** No. The fuel is pumped into a sealed tank on the van, and a drip tray catches anything from the connection. The area is left as it was. **Do you cover all of Fulford York?** Yes — forecourts, roadsides, homes and workplaces across Fulford York and the surrounding area. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
