--- title: Water in AdBlue tank in Wigginton York: local drainer from £89 url: https://wrongfueldrain.com/water-in-adblue-tank/wigginton-york/ focus: water in the adblue tank wigginton york phone: 01295 380724 updated: 2026-10-06 --- # Water in the AdBlue tank in Wigginton York: a local drainer comes to you **Short answer** Before anything else, keep the key out of the ignition. A drainer covering Wigginton York can be with you the same day for water in the adblue tank, drain it where the car stands and have you moving in about 1 to 3 hours. The misfuel call-out is £89 and the total is quoted on 01295 380724 before they travel. AdBlue is a precise mix. Extra water takes it out of specification and the exhaust treatment system logs a fault. A full tank of the wrong fuel takes longer to pump than a few litres, so the drainer will tell you roughly how long it will be once they see the gauge. After that it is a flush, a refuel and a test run before they leave. ## Questions worth asking before you book a drain in Wigginton York Most bad experiences with a fuel drain come from not asking these up front. Ask them all. - How much more if the engine has already been started? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - Will you check the filter and pump if the engine ran? - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? ## What to do right now - Keep the engine off and put the keys somewhere you will not absent-mindedly use them. - Move the car only by pushing, with help, and only if it is blocking a pump. - Phone 01295 380724 and describe what happened. - Confirm the quote — call-out from £89 — and the arrival window. - The drainer empties the tank into a sealed container and flushes through. - After a refuel and a test run, the waste fuel leaves with the drainer for licensed disposal. [Call 01295 380724 now](tel:+441295380724) ## Wigginton York postcodes Coverage takes in postcode district YO32 in York. If you are just outside, call anyway — the drainer covering the next area will usually come. ## Where you can be drained in Wigginton York Forecourt staff in Wigginton York see this every week and will usually let the vehicle sit in a bay until the drainer arrives. Otherwise the drainer can work on your drive, at your workplace or at the kerb outside. The same van covers New Earswick York, Stockton-on-the-Forest York, Haxby York and Strensall York, which usually keeps arrival times short across this side of York. ## The cost of a drain in Wigginton York The call-out starts at £89. The total depends on how far the fuel travelled, and is confirmed on the phone before a drainer sets off. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Wigginton York. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Can I pay by card?** Yes. Card payment is taken on site once the job is done. **Can you drain a van or a lorry?** Vans, yes, routinely. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are quoted separately because of the volume involved. **Does insurance cover water in the adblue tank?** Many policies exclude misfuelling. Some breakdown cover and optional add-ons include it. Check your policy wording before assuming either way. **Do I need to stay with the car?** Ideally yes, so the drainer can confirm what happened and hand the keys back. If not, agree access on the phone. **What does it cost in Wigginton York?** The call-out starts at £89. The full price depends on the vehicle and how far the fuel got, and it is confirmed on 01295 380724 before anyone travels. **The engine is running rough — is that the wrong fuel?** If it started shortly after filling up, very likely. Pull over when it is safe, switch off and call 01295 380724. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
