For water in the diesel tank in Caherdavin Limerick we connect you to an independent local drainer who covers the area, so you only explain it once. Water is heavier than diesel, so it sits at the bottom of the tank and reaches the pump first, stripping lubrication and stopping the engine. Their price and arrival time are confirmed by them before they set off. In Ireland we do not run our own vans — we work with local fuel drainers and connect you to one covering Caherdavin Limerick. Call 01295 380724 and we will pass you straight to a drainer in your area with the details of the vehicle and the fuels involved, so you are not repeating the story twice. Pricing and attendance times are set by the local operator, not by us, so ask them to confirm both before they travel. ## Water in the diesel tank in Caherdavin Limerick: the facts Town | Caherdavin Limerick | Area | Limerick | Job | Water in the diesel tank | Price | Set by the local drainer, agreed before travel | Time on site | 1–2 hours | Who attends | An independent local drainer | Phone | 01295 380724, 24 hours | ## On arrival in Caherdavin Limerick: what happens next Most of the time is spent draining. A full tank of the wrong fuel takes longer to pump than a few litres, so the drainer will tell you roughly how long it will be once they see the gauge. After that it is a flush, a refuel and a test run before they leave. ## Five things to ask a drainer before they set off Most bad experiences with a fuel drain come from not asking these up front. Ask them all. - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? - How long until you reach me in Caherdavin Limerick? - Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? - How much more if the engine has already been started? ## What to do right now - Keep the engine off and put the keys somewhere you will not absent-mindedly use them. - Move the car only by pushing, with help, and only if it is blocking a pump. - Phone 01295 380724 and describe what happened. - Confirm the quote — call-out from £89 — and the arrival window. - The drainer empties the tank into a sealed container and flushes through. - After a refuel and a test run, the waste fuel leaves with the drainer for licensed disposal. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Caherdavin Limerick. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee is set by the local drainer in Ireland and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Can I drive to a garage with water in the diesel tank?** No. Every mile pushes the fuel further through the pump and injectors. A drainer comes to you, so there is no reason to move the car under its own power. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. **I only put a little in — do I still need a drain?** In most modern diesels, yes. Even a small amount of petrol reduces the lubrication the pump depends on. A drain is cheap compared with a pump. **Can you drain a van or a lorry?** Vans, yes, routinely. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are quoted separately because of the volume involved. **Does insurance cover water in the diesel tank?** Many policies exclude misfuelling. Some breakdown cover and optional add-ons include it. Check your policy wording before assuming either way. **Do I need to move the car off the forecourt?** Only if it is blocking a pump. Push it into a bay with help and the engine off; the drainer can work there. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
