--- title: Water in screen wash tank in Guildford: local drainer from £89 url: https://wrongfueldrain.com/water-in-screen-wash-tank/guildford/ focus: water in the screen wash tank guildford phone: 01295 380724 updated: 2026-10-06 --- # Water in the screen wash tank in Guildford, drained on the spot **Short answer** Put the keys in your pocket and ring 01295 380724. Water in the screen wash tank in Guildford is a drain-and-flush job done at the roadside, on the forecourt or on your drive — no tow, no garage. Call-out from £89, roughly 45 to 90 minutes on site, price agreed first. The mechanism is simple. Plain water in the washer bottle freezes in winter and can crack the bottle, the pump or the lines; it is drained and refilled with proper fluid. Once the tank is empty and the lines are flushed, the drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to get the engine running and to reach a filling station, then checks for warning lights before handing the keys back. ## Five things to ask a drainer before they set off You are going to pay for the job, so it is worth two minutes on the phone first. These are the questions that separate a straight quote from a surprise at the roadside. - Will you check the filter and pump if the engine ran? - How long until you reach me in Guildford? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? - Can you work on the forecourt, or does the car need to be moved? - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? ## What to do right now - Leave the key out of the ignition and do not unlock the steering to push the car. - If you are at the pump, tell the cashier; most forecourts will let the car stay in a bay. - Call 01295 380724. Say what fuel went in, roughly how much, and where you are. - Agree the price on the phone. Nobody travels until you have. - The drainer pumps out the tank, flushes the lines and adds clean fuel. - They start the engine, check it runs cleanly and take the old fuel away. [Call 01295 380724 now](tel:+441295380724) ## Guildford postcodes Drainers cover postcode districts GU1, GU2, GU3, GU4, GU5, GU6, and the roads either side of them, across Surrey. ## Forecourt, roadside or drive: where we drain in Guildford Anywhere with safe access. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Guildford. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Does insurance cover water in the screen wash tank?** Many policies exclude misfuelling. Some breakdown cover and optional add-ons include it. Check your policy wording before assuming either way. **How long does a drain take in Guildford?** Usually 45 to 90 minutes on site once the drainer arrives. Longer if the engine was started, because the filter and lines need flushing as well as the tank. **Will you bring fuel?** Yes. The drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to start the engine and reach a filling station. **Do you cover all of Guildford?** Yes — forecourts, roadsides, homes and workplaces across Guildford and the surrounding area. **Will my engine be damaged?** Not if it has not been started. The wrong fuel sitting in the tank touches nothing that a drain cannot clear. Damage starts once it circulates. **What does it cost in Guildford?** The call-out starts at £89. The full price depends on the vehicle and how far the fuel got, and it is confirmed on 01295 380724 before anyone travels. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
