Local drainers across Peterhead handle water in the screen wash tank every week: tank out, lines flushed, clean fuel in, all where the vehicle is parked. Expect 45 to 90 minutes on site and a call-out from £89, with the full price given before they leave for you. Plain water in the washer bottle freezes in winter and can crack the bottle, the pump or the lines; it is drained and refilled with proper fluid. Then it is drain, flush, refuel and start. At home or at work they can do the whole thing on the drive or in the car park without moving it at all. ## What to ask on the phone before a drainer travels to Peterhead A drainer should be happy to answer all of these on the phone. If they will not give a price before travelling, ring someone else. - How long until you reach me in Peterhead? - Will you check the filter and pump if the engine ran? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? - Can you work on the forecourt, or does the car need to be moved? ## What to do right now - Keep the engine off and put the keys somewhere you will not absent-mindedly use them. - Move the car only by pushing, with help, and only if it is blocking a pump. - Phone 01295 380724 and describe what happened. - Confirm the quote — call-out from £89 — and the arrival window. - The drainer empties the tank into a sealed container and flushes through. - After a refuel and a test run, the waste fuel leaves with the drainer for licensed disposal. [Call 01295 380724 now](tel:+441295380724) ## Peterhead postcodes Coverage takes in postcode district AB4 in North Scotland. If you are just outside, call anyway — the drainer covering the next area will usually come. ## Where you can be drained in Peterhead Forecourt staff in Peterhead see this every week and will usually let the vehicle sit in a bay until the drainer arrives. Otherwise the drainer can work on your drive, at your workplace or at the kerb outside. Nearby, drainers regularly attend Fraserburgh and Macduff as well. ## How much it costs in Peterhead The call-out starts at £89. The total depends on how far the fuel travelled, and is confirmed on the phone before a drainer sets off. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Peterhead. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Does insurance cover water in the screen wash tank?** Many policies exclude misfuelling. Some breakdown cover and optional add-ons include it. Check your policy wording before assuming either way. **The engine is running rough — is that the wrong fuel?** If it started shortly after filling up, very likely. Pull over when it is safe, switch off and call 01295 380724. **Will the car need a service afterwards?** Not after a straight drain. If the engine ran on the wrong fuel, the drainer will tell you whether the filter should be changed. **Can I pay by card?** Yes. Card payment is taken on site once the job is done. **Do you work at night in Peterhead?** Yes. Drainers work 24 hours a day, including weekends and bank holidays. **How long does a drain take in Peterhead?** Usually 45 to 90 minutes on site once the drainer arrives. Longer if the engine was started, because the filter and lines need flushing as well as the tank. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
