Wrong fuel engine damage in Blarney? We connect you to a drainer
Call 01295 380724 before touching the ignition. We cover Blarney through partner drainers rather than our own vans, and we will connect you to one nearby. In the tank it harms nothing. It is the pump and injectors that suffer once it circulates, which is where the cost comes from. They quote and confirm before travelling.
How Ireland works
Wrong Fuel Drain operates its own mobile technicians across the UK. In Ireland we do not run our own vans — we work with local fuel drainers and connect you to one covering Blarney. Call 01295 380724 and we will pass you straight to a drainer in your area with the details of the vehicle and the fuels involved, so you are not repeating the story twice. Pricing and attendance times are set by the local operator, not by us, so ask them to confirm both before they travel.

What to expect from the drainer in Blarney
The drainer parks up, checks the vehicle has not been started and makes the area safe with cones and a drip tray. The fuel is pumped out through the filler or the fuel line into a sealed tank on the van, the lines are flushed, a few litres of the right fuel go in, and the engine is started and run until it idles cleanly. The contaminated fuel leaves with them.
What to ask on the phone before a drainer travels to Blarney
A drainer should be happy to answer all of these on the phone. If they will not give a price before travelling, ring someone else.
- Do you bring clean fuel, and is it included?
- Do you take card payment at the roadside?
- Will you check the filter and pump if the engine ran?
- What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain?
- Will you dispose of the contaminated fuel, and can I have a note of it?
What to do right now
- Keep the engine off and put the keys somewhere you will not absent-mindedly use them.
- Move the car only by pushing, with help, and only if it is blocking a pump.
- Phone 01295 380724 and describe what happened.
- Confirm the quote — call-out from £89 — and the arrival window.
- The drainer empties the tank into a sealed container and flushes through.
- After a refuel and a test run, the waste fuel leaves with the drainer for licensed disposal.

Answers
Fuel Fixer, the company behind Wrong Fuel Drain, holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 2,190 reviews on Trustpilot, on a profile claimed since 2017.
Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Blarney.
The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee is set by the local drainer in Ireland and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside.
Common questions
What if I have already driven home?
Leave it on the drive with the engine off and call 01295 380724. The drainer can do the whole job at your house.
How long does a drain take in Blarney?
Usually 1 to 3 hours on site once the drainer arrives. Longer if the engine was started, because the filter and lines need flushing as well as the tank.
Will you bring fuel?
Yes. The drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to start the engine and reach a filling station.
Will my engine be damaged?
Not if it has not been started. The wrong fuel sitting in the tank touches nothing that a drain cannot clear. Damage starts once it circulates.
Will the car need a service afterwards?
Not after a straight drain. If the engine ran on the wrong fuel, the drainer will tell you whether the filter should be changed.
I only put a little in — do I still need a drain?
In most modern diesels, yes. Even a small amount of petrol reduces the lubrication the pump depends on. A drain is cheap compared with a pump.
