--- title: Wrong fuel in Ashton: local drainer from £89 url: https://wrongfueldrain.com/wrong-fuel/ashton/ focus: wrong fuel ashton phone: 01295 380724 updated: 2026-10-10 --- # Wrong fuel in Ashton, drained on the spot **Short answer** Before anything else, keep the key out of the ignition. A drainer covering Ashton can be with you the same day for wrong fuel, drain it where the car stands and have you moving in about 45 to 90 minutes. The misfuel call-out is £89 and the total is quoted on 01295 380724 before they travel. Here is why it matters. Whatever went in, the order is the same: engine off, drain, flush, refuel. The earlier it is caught, the smaller the job. [Call 01295 380724 — 24/7, nationwide](tel:+441295380724) ## Wrong fuel in Ashton: the facts Place | Ashton | Area | Cambridgeshire | Postcodes | PE8, PE9, PL17 | Job | Wrong fuel | Price | Call-out from £89, full price quoted first | Time on site | 45–90 minutes | Who attends | A local drainer with a pump and sealed tank | Phone | 01295 380724, 24 hours | ## What the drainer does when they reach you in Ashton On a forecourt the drainer will usually move the vehicle off the pump lane first, by hand, with the engine off. Then it is drain, flush, refuel and start. At home or at work they can do the whole thing on the drive or in the car park without moving it at all. ## Five things to ask a drainer before they set off A drainer should be happy to answer all of these on the phone. If they will not give a price before travelling, ring someone else. - Is the vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, and does that change the price? - What is the total, not just the call-out, if it is a straight drain? - Do you take card payment at the roadside? - How long until you reach me in Ashton? - Is there an extra charge at night or at the weekend? ## What to do right now - Leave the key out of the ignition and do not unlock the steering to push the car. - If you are at the pump, tell the cashier; most forecourts will let the car stay in a bay. - Call 01295 380724. Say what fuel went in, roughly how much, and where you are. - Agree the price on the phone. Nobody travels until you have. - The drainer pumps out the tank, flushes the lines and adds clean fuel. - They start the engine, check it runs cleanly and take the old fuel away. Across recent reviews, the themes customers raise most often are staff who stay polite, professional and reassuring during what is a stressful situation, and how quickly a technician arrives and gets the vehicle back on the road in Ashton. The most common criticism is price. Some customers have felt the cost of an emergency drain was steep for a job that takes under two hours, and that is fair comment on an emergency call-out. It is why the misfuel call-out fee now starts at just £89 and why the full figure is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off — so nothing about the cost is a surprise at the roadside. ## Common questions **Does insurance cover wrong fuel?** Many policies exclude misfuelling. Some breakdown cover and optional add-ons include it. Check your policy wording before assuming either way. **What if I have already driven home?** Leave it on the drive with the engine off and call 01295 380724. The drainer can do the whole job at your house. **I only put a little in — do I still need a drain?** In most modern diesels, yes. Even a small amount of petrol reduces the lubrication the pump depends on. A drain is cheap compared with a pump. **Will you bring fuel?** Yes. The drainer adds enough of the correct fuel to start the engine and reach a filling station. **Can you drain a hire car or a company car?** Yes. Tell the hire company or fleet manager too; many prefer a drain on site to a recovery. **Do I need to move the car off the forecourt?** Only if it is blocking a pump. Push it into a bay with help and the engine off; the drainer can work there. ### Who you are dealing with Wrong Fuel Drain is a brand of [Fuel Fixer Ltd](https://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/) (company number 08520551), a company of Fuel Fixer International, the multinational group behind this website.
